Check if your store is eligible
- Open Subscriptions Plus in your Shopify admin. The Setup Guide on the dashboard shows three steps — completing them is enough to add your first subscription.
- In Check store subscription setting, click Shopify subscriptions documentation to see which stores can sell subscriptions, or Payment settings to review your store's payment setup.

Create a subscription plan
- In Create new subscription plan, click Create a plan.

- Enter a plan name and click Choose a product for subscription. The plan name is for internal use only and isn't visible to customers.

- Select the product and click Select.

- Click Next step.

- Set up the subscription rules:
- Frequency plan name — the name of the subscription option customers see, e.g. Monthly subscription.
- Set interval — monthly, weekly or daily.
- Discount type — Fixed value to set a subscription price, or Percentage to apply a discount to the product's full price.
- Frequency label — the billing frequency customers see, e.g. Every month, and how often they're charged: every 1 month, every 2 weeks, and so on.
- Price — the subscription price or the discount percentage, depending on the discount type.
- Maximum number of payment cycles — limit the number of charges or keep it Unlimited.
- Charge first payment on subscription creation — charge the customer as soon as the subscription is created.
- Change subscription price after first payment — set a new price that applies after the first charge.
- Select a specific period for customer charges — charge on the same day of the month as the initial order or on a specific date.
The preview on the right shows how the subscription block will look. When you're done, click Create subscription.

- Your plan now appears in Subscription plans, where you can edit it at any time. Click Subscriptions Plus in the sidebar to return to the dashboard.

Add the subscription block to your theme
- In Add subscriptions plus app block to your active theme, click Edit your theme.

- The theme editor opens with the Subscriptions block already added to the product template. Move it where you want it, e.g. above Buy buttons, and click Save.

Choose a widget template
- Optionally, open Subscriptions Plus → Templates and choose how the subscription block looks on the product page: Option selector, Dropdown, Cards, or another layout.
- Open the product page in your store to see the subscription options live.

That's it — in a few steps you've added a subscription to your product and a new source of recurring revenue to your store. Using Courses Plus? Its built-in subscriptions are available from the Professional plan; on lower plans, you can sell courses on subscription with Subscriptions Plus. The same applies to our Mega Community app. If you have any questions, we're always happy to help.
