# Types of courses

| Within the Courses Plus app, you'll find a variety of course types tailored to your needs. 


These include:

1. **One-time purchase (regular)** – access to the course is granted automatically after purchasing the course product. Students are required to log in to access the course.
2. [**Private**](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/private-courses-4yh35f/) – these courses are restricted to specific users. Students can be [invited manually](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/how-to-import-students-attendees-into-a-course-1g66hur/) or granted access via a [customer tag](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/course-access-by-a-tag-ipqy1m/?bust=1714388182887).
3. [**Open**](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/public-open-courses-17a1jqc/) – a public course type that allows students to view the course content without enrolling, signing up, or logging in.
4. **Free (order required)** – allows students to access the course free of charge. A free course product still needs to be purchased, and students must log in to access the course.
5. [**Subscriptions**](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/subscriptions-otcez6/) – allows you to set up recurring payments at regular intervals, such as monthly or annually, for continued access to courses.
6. [**Connected courses**](https://help.courses-plus.com/en/article/connected-courses-for-product-variants-p43vyk/) – useful when you want to offer several courses as variants of a single product.
